Below you will find the songs that we will be looking at during callbacks. For each song, you will find a PDF with sheet music and an MP3 of the original Broadway cast recording. You are will be welcome to add your own personal sense of style if cast, however, for now -- please see how close to the original you can deliver. I would hate to see someone's audition be hurt because they were improvising with "vocal acrobatics" and something went amiss.
What am I looking for? I'm looking for POWER, ENERGY, PERSONALITY, and a spoonful of SOUL.
Men, you'll notice that most of the music here is from the Andre De Shields character. Don't worry, you're being considered for both roles.
Ladies, the music here is a mix, but tends to lean towards the Nell Carter role. Again, don't worry, no decisions have been made on any role.
